National Association for Integrative Health Care Practitioners

In 1998, a group of dedicated, Medical Practitioners, Naturopaths, Chiropractors,Herbalist, Massage Therapist and Dentist realized the urgency to establish an association committed to supporting the needs of practitioners of complementary and alternative medical care. After months of research, it became evident that complementary and alternative medical therapies are the secondary choice of health care modality for many practitioners and patients. Since the Complementary and Alternative health care industry has significantly grown, many state officials face issues relative to the licensure and registration of practitioners; as well as, public safety. Today, there are countless numbers of different complementary and alternative medical treatment modalities and a greater number of practitioners are emerging resulting in broad differences in professional training, qualifications and treatments. Practitioners with significant training and experience are not recognized for their dedication and commitment to helping others in health related issues, and in instances of life crises. The alternative medical practitioner is many times, unfairly challenged, criticized and disregarded by the traditional medical community. The Association for Integrative Health Care Practitioners established this not for profit membership association in Norfolk, Virginia to address these issues and to represent all Complementary and Alternative Medical & Health Care Practitioners and Providers.

The association provides education programs, seminars, conferences, networking sessions and representation to encourage continued professional development and public recognition. The development of the mission and goals of this association and the creation of the AIHCP Board of Professional Standards, Credentialing and Membership establishes substantial creditability to the complementary and alternative medical & health care profession, which is one way to improve the professional status of Integrative Health Care Practitioners and Providers...

The Association for Integrative Health Care Practitioners Board Members and Appointees are committed to the furtherance of the Complementary and Alternative Health Care Profession.

The Association for Integrative Health Care Practitioners, Inc. is a National Not For Profit Membership Organization, which supports Complementary and Alternative Medical & Health Care Practitioners and Providers.
